Today I stumbled across a site called Do It With WordPress, which is a blog containing WordPress tips, plugins, and tutorials. I found a lot of great information and thought I’d share a few of my favourite posts from the site!
Allow Users to Create Posts on Your Site with Formidable Pro
This tutorial illustrates a way for users to submit posts to your site from the front-end, rather than requiring login access or submitting it via e-mail! All submitted posts can automatically be marked as a draft so you can review them before publication! This is an excellent feature if your blog relies on user submissions or guest articles.
How to Manage your Outbound Links in WordPress
This post describes a plugin called Redirection. It allows you to create URL redirects to outbound links. It makes linking to outside sources much easier and you can start logging some basic statistics, such as how many hits the links have received!
Color Code your WordPress Posts by Post Status in Admin
This feature allows you to colour code your WordPress posts according to their publication status. You can mark all drafts as one colour, published posts as another, and scheduled posts as a third! If you’re managing a lot of unpublished posts this is an excellent feature to help you keep track of them!
How to Set Default Text in your Post Editor
This is a handy feature if you or your client is not very familiar with HTML and coding. It allows you to set up some default text in all new posts. That way, rather than having to input the formatting code yourself, you (or your client) can just work from a template and edit the necessary content.
SOUP – A Plugin to Show Off your Upcoming Posts
This is a plugin you can install (click here to install) that lists your soon-to-be-published posts (including drafts and/or scheduled posts). This is a great way to get your viewers excited about future content!
And many more…
